Objective: To identify the risk level of the feet of people with diabetes and its associated factors. Methods: Cross-sectional study. People with type 2 diabetes mellitus were included in the study, through a survey and clinical evaluation, people were stratified according to the scale for assessing the risk of complications in the feet of the International Working Group on Diabetic Foot. Multivariate logistic regression analysis evaluated the association between the variables. Results: The following were associated with a foot risk of complications: female sex, age, being a smoker, not having registered a neurological evaluation of the feet and presenting a history of numbness in the feet. While a lower risk was associated with the fact of not having pathological findings in the feet, a higher level of knowledge of the patients in relation to foot care and being taking oral hypoglycemic agents. Conclusions: About two-thirds of the people with diabetes had some level of irrigation in their feet.
