Update of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in prolactin-producing pituitary adenomas: Narrative review

Introduction: according to the World Health Organization, the bio-psycho-social balance that defines the health of pregnant women should be accompanied by a sufficient, quality diet and knowledge of the elements of a healthy lifestyle before, during and after pregnancy. Objective: To carry out a literature review on the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and dietary practices practices with the nutritional status of pregnant women. Methodology: a literature review was carried out based on information of 57 original articles, reviews, case studies, books, books, practice guidelines, etc. case studies, books, clinical practice guidelines, from databases such as Pubmed, Web of Science, Scielo. Results: The knowledge, attitudes and dietary practices that influence the nutritional status of the pregnant woman were maternal care, nutritional status assessment, weight gain, micronutrient requirement and supplementation, micronutrient requirements and supplementation, nutritional counseling with emphasis on breastfeeding and comprehensive childbirth and integrated childbirth practices, immunization, strengthening of the microbiota. Conclusion: Knowledge, attitudes and dietary practices influence the nutritional status of the pregnant woman and her future child, they are determined by an adequate dietary education and nutritional counseling which helps us to know their benefits, have a good attitude and practice them, maintaining maternal and child health, avoiding complications in the short, medium and long term.
