Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is a systemic inflammatory syndrome with multifaceted implications that affect various body systems. Objective: Analyze the application of Joyce Travelbee's Theory in the care of patients emotionally affected by the diagnosis of CKD through a systematic review. Method: The research corresponds to a systematic review, for this, a bibliographic search was carried out in databases and registries, including studies published between 2020 and 2024, 12 studies were selected for detailed analysis, following a rigorous process based on the method, PRISMA. Results: the results revealed that CKD is characterized by diverse clinical manifestations that affect multiple body systems, highlighting the need for a holistic and multidisciplinary treatment approach, in addition, a significant alteration in the mental health of patients is evident, with a high prevalence of psychological disorders, where the application of Joyce Travelbee's theory was highlighted as a fundamental component for person-centered care, emphasizing empathy and understanding of human suffering. Conclusions: The application of Joyce Travelbee's theory in nursing care provides the possibility of a significant improvement in the quality of care for patients with CKD since it promotes a humanistic and empathetic approach.
